As a pastor's wife and leader of women in my church many people do not know what you go through daily! My life was a total mess and I wore a mask in front of everyone, including my husband until I met Dr Sylvia at one of her speaking engagements in London. I was in complete awe and drawn by the profound words of wisdom she spoke and by the authority and confidence with which she spoke those words. I signed up on her six weeks public speaking and confidence training and there are no words to describe the transformation it had in my life, my family and our church! Taking part in the Gateway to Mental Resilience Workshops has been a truly humbling and enlightening experience for me. I feel very blessed to have gone on this journey with the dynamic Dr Sylvia and a wonderful group of people who all kindly and openly shared their experiences, feelings, concerns, joys, etc. We were able to learn, inspire, and help one another through the situations we were dealing with based on discussions in the workshop, the reading material,s and reflection activities we undertook. I am now very resilient and optimistic as a result of this program.

I very much enjoyed the course. I was quite stressed out with covid-19 and the course has allowed me to strengthen my resilience in more ways than one. It has taught me that I have inner strength that I can tap into in order to cope with many situations – one being a very stressful hospital appointment which I overcame. I also had an issue at work for which I took action in not accepting no for an answer, and this has now opened the door for a future position. I have been left with an inner voice of power which I can use and adapt to many given situations. I now know that there is nothing life can bring to me that I cannot handle and overcome, thanks to this course.

Dear Sylvia, I don’t know how to thank you. Through this training “Gateway to Resilience”, you’ve not only invested in me and my classmates, but from now I feel empowered, powerful, and able to properly look after myself and, as a Peacebuilder, to pass the message/ principles I have learned across to the multitude out there in my relationships who have been vulnerable for too long because of all types of traumas they didn’t know how to be healed from.

This program has immensely transformed my life and that of my son. I have discovered my inner strength and voice. I feel like a new and different person to the one I have been and known for decades. My confidence has soared through the roof, and I am now very resilient and courageous. There is literally nothing that life can throw at me that I am not capable of handling and overcoming now.

Reading the book daily and after every session has been a great source of inspiration, strength, and hope for me. I totally enjoy and love the affirmations and I now believe in them and have grown to love and appreciate myself and my son more, despite our shortcomings.

This program and the book have helped me a great deal with my mental health and depression. I have become more optimistic and improved my mental health, and even requested my GP to reduce my anti-depressant medication/ dose. She has now put me on a lower dose, and I am working and applying the skills/ strategies I have learned in the program to come out of medication fully. I will highly recommend this program to anyone suffering from depression and/ or mental illnesses
